Bulk solids, which vary widely in their density, form and features, confront the measuring instruments in industrial production processes with widely different challenges: powders often generate huge clouds of dust, while coarse, heavy bulk solids cause tremors and noise when being filled into a container from a great height. With VEGAPULS 68, level measurement in bulk solids is largely independent of process conditions. Due to optimized VEGA radar technology, the sensor can evaluate signals 1,000 times smaller than those conventional radar instruments can pick up. This high sensitivity allows a measuring range of up to 75 m even in products with bad reflective properties.

The radar sensor VEGAPULS 67 is used everywhere where the levels of widely different bulk solids have to be continuously monitored in measuring ranges up to 15 m. The mechanical configuration of the instrument as well as its electronics are optimised for this application under normal process conditions. The radar instrument operates with high frequency sensors in the K band and stands out due to its excellent signal focusing. Silo fittings or buildup on the container wall thus have no influence on the high-precision measuring result. The instrument is equipped with a sensor especially adapted to the application according to the type of product and its repose behaviour. VEGAPULS 67 is, by the way, the “little brother” of VEGAPULS 68, the specialist for bulk solids measurement under extremely difficult process conditions.

Level measurement of liquids – even with strongly agitated media

The radar sensor VEGAPULS 66 is the radar instrument of choice when the level of a turbulent liquid has to be measured: it delivers reliable, exact measuring results in spite of foam, buildup or condensate. Even if the medium is in violent motion, as is often the case in industrial processes, the level measuring probe transmits the level unfazed. The instrument can even withstand fluctuating pressures up to 160 bar and temperatures between -60° and +400°C.

Ideal for Small Process Fittings Level measurement of liquids despite foam

The radar sensor VEGAPULS 65 is everywhere in use where liquid levels in small to medium-sized containers have to be measured but small process fittings (1½ inch) are required. This measuring principle is a really economic solution for applications requiring contactless and continuous level monitoring in storage tanks under easy process conditions. The special strength of this radar gauge: the low-frequency C-band sensors ensure reliable measurement even when foam and bubbles form on or in the medium.
