HiTECH’s SonicLaser^TM Open Channel Flow Meter is a two-part monitoring system that utilizes HiTECH’s unique narrow beam ultrasonic technology to measure flow in an open channel.

At installation, the operator merely enters data into the processor unit for the flume or weir type being used and the height of the sensor.

In operation, the level in the channel is measured by the SonicLaser^TMsensor and transmitted to the processor unit which computes the actual flow rate and the total flow.

The system functions with open channels or closed pipes, carrying water or sewage. In free discharging, non-pressurized pipes a flume is required in a section of the pipe.
